Day 1. Monday, October 20: Transatlantic flight to Lisbon, Portugal
Day 2. Tuesday, October 21: Arrival Lisbon | Santarem | Fatima
Welcome to Lisbon. Upon arrival meet our guide and driver and drive to Fatima, enroute stopping at Santarem and time for visiting the Sanctuary of the Eucharistic Miracle. The relic is venerated at Church of St Stephen in the historical center of the town. Mass location today is still to be determined. Upon arrival Fatima, check in to the hotel, where we will have our dinner and overnight. Join the candlelight procession in the evening. (B, D)
Day 3. Wednesday, October 22: Fatima
Today we visit the Fatima to include Chapel of the Apparitions where Our Lady first appeared to the children, Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary where we can visit the tombs of St Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco, Basilica of Holy Trinity, Way of the Cross. Mass at the Shrine. Proceed to Visit the church of St Anthony where the children were baptized. Lunch on your own followed by free time for personal meditation, prayers and shopping. After lunch, on to visit the town of Ajustrel seeing the homes of the children and Arneiro’s Well where the Angel of Peace appeared to the children in 1916. Next, on to Valinhos, the place made famous for the August 19th apparition of Our Lady of Fatima, seeing the small chapel that marks the location of the fourth apparition of Our Lady. After dinner, we will join the nightly candlelight procession. (B, D)
Day 4. Thursday, October 23: Fatima | Madrid
After breakfast, we will leave Fatima transferring towards Madrid. We would stop for lunch along the way and celebrate mass upon arrival to Madrid. Dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Day 5. Friday, October 24: Madrid
This morning following breakfast, we’ll enjoy Madrid, having a walking panoramic tour of the city including Gran Via, Plaza de Espana, Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace (from outside). We will visit also the Cathedral of Almudena. Mass location today is to be determined. After lunch, time at leisure for shopping or to discover the city on our own. We will regroup at the hotel and will head out to enjoy dinner at local restaurant with flamenco show. Overnight in Madrid. (B, SD)
Day 6. Saturday, October 25: Madrid | Zaragoza
This morning, after breakfast and check-out, we will leave and depart towards Zaragoza. Upon arrival we will celebrate Mass and afterwards have a panoramic view of the beautiful city of Zaragoza, the capital of Aragon. Founded some 2000 years ago, the city is filled with stunning historic monuments, including the impres¬sive Basilica of the Virgin of the Pilar. Construction on the basilica started in the 12th century. It was built on the site where the Blessed Vir¬gin Mary appeared to St. James the apostle on his way to northwestern Spain. Dinner and overnight in Zaragoza. (B, D)
Day 7. Sunday, October 26: Zaragoza | Loyola | Lourdes
Today we transfer to Lourdes. On our way we will stop in Loyola, where we will celebrate Mass and you will see the 17th-century Basilica dedicated to this remarkable saint - the Basilica is part of a series of buildings surrounding the 'Holy House,' or birthplace of St. Ignatius. When you visit these Holy places, you will also have the opportunity to pray at the most venerated room, where St. Ignatius prayed and began his conversion. After lunch, we will continue our drive on to Lourdes. In 1858, 14-year-old Bernadette Soubirous declared that the Virgin had appeared to her several times in the Cave of Massabielle and had said to her in the local patois, “I am the Immaculate Conception.” Dinner and overnight at hotel. In the evening participate in the candlelight procession. (B, D)
Day 8. Monday, October 27: Lourdes
As we wake up to the serene waters and quaint community of Lourdes, we visit the historical and spiritual sites associated with the visionary child Bernadette. We begin at the Grotto of the Apparitions, and then continue on a guided walking tour visiting the Basilica of St. Pius X, Boly Mill, Soubirous family home, the Basilica of the Rosary, the miraculous spring and the healing baths. Celebrate Mass. After dinner, join the and candlelight procession. (B, D)
Day 9. Tuesday, October 28: Lourdes | Carcassonne | Barcelona
After breakfast and check out we celebrate mass in Lourdes, then depart Lourdes to Barcelona with a stop along the way at the medieval town of Carcassonne for some free time and lunch on our own, enjoying the ambience of this fairytale fortified town. Arrival Barcelona. Check in to our hotel where we will have dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Day 10. Wednesday, October 29: Barcelona
This morning, we will have a panoramic city tour which includes the most important sites of Barcelona such as the Sagrada Familia, where we will have an inside tour, Passeig de Gracia, Plaza Catalunya, Montjuic panorama. Walking tour of Barri Gothic, passing by Barcelona Cathedral and Santa Maria del Mar shrine, which we will have a tour. Balance of the day at leisure for shopping or to discover the city on our own. We will gather together at the hotel and make our way for our final dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Barcelona. (B, SD)
Day 11. Thursday, October 30: Departure
Transfer to Barcelona airport for your flight back home.
