Day 1 - Sunday, November 5:
Transatlantic flight from Newark, New Jersey to Tel Aviv, Israel
Day 2 - Monday, November 6: Tel Aviv
Welcome to the Holy Land! Upon arrival in Tel Aviv, you will be greeted at the airport by your guide. We will drive to Jaffa for a relaxing visit of the old port and the narrow streets of Old Jaffa. Free time for lunch on your own. Celebrate mass in Jaffa and in the afternoon, we will transfer to our hotel in Herzeliya for overnight and dinner. (D)
Day 3 - Tuesday, November 7:
Caesarea Maritima, Aqueduct Beach, Haifa, Cana, Nazareth
We begin our journey with a visit to Caesarea Maritima. Here we will visit the Roman Theater, Herod's Palace & the Crusader Citadel. This is where St. Peter baptized the Roman Centurion, Cornelius and his family. St. Paul was also imprisoned here for two years. We will go to the Aqueduct Beach for a brief stop. We then proceed to Haifa with a visit to Stella Maris Shrine and lunch. Our final stop of the day is Cana of Galilee where we will celebrate Mass and have our married pilgrims reaffirm their marriage vows. Dinner and overnight in Nazareth. (B, D)
Day 4 - Wednesday, November 8: Sea of Galilee
The day opens with Mass on the Mount of Beatitudes, the scene of the Sermon on the Mount. Afterwards, we drive to visit the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes, where the miracle of the Feeding of Five Thousand took place. Continue to the Church of the Primacy of St. Peter situated at the shores of the Sea of Galilee, where Our Lord appeared to His disciples after His Resurrection, followed by a flavorful lunch featuring the traditional 'St. Peter's Fish' at Pilgerhaus. Afterwards, explore the ruins of Capharnaum, including the ancient Jewish synagogue and St. Peter's house. Next, enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Gailiee, where Our Lord performed many miracles. Before concluding the day, we will visit
Yigal Alon Museaum to see a 1st c. fishing boat. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)
Day 5 - Thursday, November 9: Caesarea Phillipi, Nazareth
This morning, we drive to Caesarea Phillipi, the location of the question of Jesus, "Who do you say that I am?" and where Jesus responds to Peter, "You are Rock and upon this rock I will build my church". Afterwards, we continue to Nazareth to the Basilica of the Annunciation, the place where the Angel appeared to Our Blessed Mother and announced the birth of Jesus. It is here that we will celebrate Mass followed by lunch at a local restaurant before we continue to visit the Church of St. Joseph, built where the carpentry workshop of St. Joseph used to be. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)
Day 6 - Friday, November 10:
Mount Tabor, Baptismal Site, Jericho, Qumran, Dead Sea
Today we journey to Mount Tabor to visit the Church of the Transfiguration. Here we will enjoy beautiful views of the Jezreel Valley and the Plain of Esdraelonn and where we will celebrate our Mass. Then we leave the area of Galilee and proceed to Qasr Al Yehoud, the western part of the traditional site of the baptism of Our Lord by St. John the Baptist. After lunch and shopping in Jericho, we drive to the Caves of Qumran, where the Dead Seas Scrolls were found and enjoy spectacular views of the Dead Sea. On your way to Jerusalem, you will have an opportunity to wade and float in the Dead Sea. Continue to Jerusalem to our hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)
Day 7 - Saturday, November 11: Jerusalem
This morning, visit the Mount of Olives for a beautiful panoramic view of Jerusalem, visiting the Church of the Pator Noster where Jesus taught his Disciples the Lord's Prayer. Continue down on the Palm Sunday road on Mount Olivet visiting the Church of Dominus Flevit, where Our Lord wept over the city of Jerusalem. Arrive into the Kidron Valley to the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations, where Jesus began the way of His Passion. It is here that we will celebrate Mass. Then in the afternoon, to Mount Zion to visit the Upper Room where the Last Supper took place, Church of the Dormiton erected on the spot where Our Lady was assumed into heaven, and the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, where St. Peter denied Our Lord. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem. (B, D)
Day 8 - Sunday, November 12: Bethany, Bethlehem
Beginning our day, we visit Bethany Church and the Tomb of Lazarus. Then journey to Bethlehem, the royal city of David , to celebrate Mass and to pray at the Cave of the Nativity, the birthplace of Our Lord. Continue to Shepherds' Field, also the site of Boaz'z field, to see the cave of the shephers where the angels appreared and announced the birth of Christ. After lunch at Casa Nova restaurant, we will enjoy the opportunity to do some shopping at a Christian Coop Store to help support the local Christians in the region. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem. Day 9 - Monday, November 13: Jerusalem
Early this morning, carry the cross and follow the Via Dolorosa, the Way of the Cross, ending with the Church of the Holy Sepulcher where we will celebrate Mass. Then, enjoy an in-depth tour of this church, including a visit to the tomb of our forefather Adam and the tombs of Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea, as well as a tour of the Holy Sepulcher chapels. We will have a breakfast back at the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem. (B, D)
Day 10 - Tuesday, November 14: Jerusalem, Ein Karem – Transatlantic flight
Today’s sightseeing will start with a visit to Judaism’s holiest site, the Wailing Wall. Afterwards, visit the Church of St. Anne, erected over the traditional site of the birthplace of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Continue to the Pool of Bethesda excavations, identified as the scene of the healing of the paralytic. Then, visit the Flagellation Church that enshrines the spot where Our Lord was flogged. Next is Ecce Homo Church, erected where Pontius Pilate presented Our Lord to the hostile Jewish crowd. Before heading to the airport, we will travel to the “hill country of Judea” to the city of Ein Karem, the birthplace of St. John the Baptist. Visit the Church of St. John the Baptist and the Church of the Visitation, built over the home of Zacharias. Here we will celebrate Mass. Finally, enjoy a farewell dinner to celebrate the success of a beautiful journey before transferring to the airport for a night flight home. (B, FD)
